Updated appearance list

This doesn't have to wait for the next release, so here it is a huge apfinder file with around 250 avatars for you to kill.

Download

Right click save target as.

Installation: Put this in your add-ons/Rot folder, make a backup of your old apfinder.cs just in case.

Note: This file may be a bit big for most people, and might freeze up temporarily when executing it. So I'm not sure if it will be included in the next update. But just give it a second and it should work fine.

Sidetracked

I've been working on another project recently, so the update for zombies went to the back of my mind. I'm not sure when i'll get the next update out, since this new project is really exciting and is taking a lot of my time, if I get a working prototype of it, I'll post it in this blog or my other one.

Development will be on hold for a few days, while I'm away. When I get back I think I might be able to get version 2 out with a few bug fixes, flaming zombies and what not. See you in a few days.

Make a zombie of yourself.


I just put up a dedicated appearance collecting server, so if you want to be in the next update, or want to change your current look join it, it's called "Rotondo Zombie Appearance Catcher".

Hopefully it will be up all day, and possibly for a few days.

Flamers











Here's a quick video showing off a fire effect i was messing with last night.
Thanks to pload for filming this for me.

If you couldn't tell, you set one zombie on fire through a flamethrower, or propane tank, and then they set other players or zombies on fire, it's a fun chain reaction.

Zombie Mod Released!

This is basically a so called "test" release, I'm going to be recoding a bunch of things to make things more stable and more dynamic, I just wanted to release this since it's in pretty good working order and should entertain you for a little while.

Release Soon


I just gave a few people an early build of the mod, if testing goes well, expect the release in a few days.

Fixed many bugs today, getting closer to release, and in the midst of the fixing added a new feature.

While sleeping isn't anything revolutionary, it still adds a nice bit to the game play.

Only a bit more to do, then I think I'll be ready to release this. Initial release will probably be a bit buggish, but I think it will help in the end, depending on how many people report bugs.

So yeah, I didn't have any time to work on zombies this weekend, so not going to be released today.

Bug fixes and a briefcase


More bug fixes done today, and a new game mode item, I'm starting to think I might actually finish this mod.

Basically you have to get a hold of the briefcase to lure your rescuers to you, since they really don't want to be there without some type of briefcase with the word secret on it as payment.

Blockland zombies, release date

I was expecting to release the first version by friday, but I want to redo a few of the key features to make gameplay less buggy and shitlike. Expect a few public servers by the weekend, and possibly an initial release by monday.

I hope this blog doesn't become totally useless like 98% of all blogs out there.
